Bee faux fur and sock doll made by Catherine L Owen with mixed media

Bee is the last of 8 honeys that I made from black and yellow socks, some quality faux fur and after making careful drawings of bees.

Her wings are sewn using netting backed with folded acetate for the perfect stiffness, and legs and antennas are fuzzy pipe cleaners knotted and threaded through the body. I didn’t want to simply sew them to the outside!

Bee has large safely eyes and absolutely no sting. But she’s definitely a honey!
